Text Messages have dominated the communications platform for years, until the likes of WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, Viber showed up. Even then, many of us still prefer to communicate via text messages and we do send and receive a lot of them almost everyday. Often, you’d have stack-loads of text messages on your iPhone and would want to save and even print a few. In this walk-through, we will learn how to print iPhone text messages.
Steps to recover, transfer and print iPhone text messages
To be able to print iPhone text messages, you will need access to your iPhone (or its latest backup on your computer), Text Saver software and a printer.
Creating an iPhone backup
- Connect your iPhone to your computer (PC or Mac) and open iTunes
- Select your device and open its Summary tab. Ensure that This Computer is selected (not iCloud) and Encrypt iPhone backup is unchecked. Otherwise, none of your messages will be backed up and you won’t be able to print them.
- Locate the ‘Back Up Now’ option as is shown in the summary tab. Click on it and wait for the backup process to complete.

Running Text Saver
- Download a copy of Text Saver software on your computer by hitting the download button.
- Install the software on your computer and run it.
- Now, from the backup selection drop-down, select your iPhone’s backup which was recently – you can check for the backup date and time as they are shown right below the iPhone image on the software.
- Next, create a new folder on your computer and browse to it. This is where we’ll be saving the iPhone text messages.
- Click on the Recover button to save iPhone text messages to the selected folder.
Note that the trial version will only let you save a single message. You can get the software license to transfer all the iPhone text messages. Look for details at the end of this tutorial to get a software license for Text Saver.
Print iPhone text messages
